Connect your SurveyMonkey account and Giftronaut account in a single Claude conversation. With both active, you can pull survey data and send gift cards without switching tools or exporting spreadsheets.
What this combination does
The SurveyMonkey connector gives Claude access to your surveys, responses, and statistical summaries. Giftronaut MCP gives it access to your gift card catalog, recipients, and orders. Together, they let you close the loop between survey activity and rewards — in plain language, without manual exports or list matching.
Common workflows include:
- Sending gift cards to everyone who completes a survey
- Rewarding high-scoring respondents or NPS promoters
- Incentivizing survey participation before the survey closes
- Following up after employee engagement surveys with a thank-you gift
Note: The SurveyMonkey connector only works in Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop). This combined workflow requires a Claude plan that includes Connector access, with Giftronaut MCP also connected in the same Claude client.
Before you start
For Giftronaut MCP:
- A Giftronaut developer account
- At least one active app (sandbox or production)
- Giftronaut MCP connected to your Claude client — see the Giftronaut MCP setup article
For the SurveyMonkey connector:
- An active SurveyMonkey account with data stored in the United States
- A Claude plan that includes Connector access
- HIPAA and Enhanced Sensitive Data Protection accounts are not supported by default — check with your administrator before connecting
Complete each setup independently before combining them.
Setting up both connections in Claude
Connecting SurveyMonkey
- Log in to Claude at claude.ai.
- Go to claude.com/connectors/.
- Search for SurveyMonkey and select the integration tile.
- Follow the prompts to authenticate and grant the requested permissions.
- Confirm the connection with a read-only prompt: "Find my most recent SurveyMonkey survey."
Confirming Giftronaut MCP
If Giftronaut MCP is already connected, confirm it is working before proceeding:
- "Check my Giftronaut balance."
- "List my most recent gift card orders."
Once both respond correctly, you are ready to run combined workflows.
What you can do
Reward survey completers
After a survey closes, pull a summary of respondents and send them a gift card through Giftronaut.
"Find my [Survey Name] survey and show me a summary of who responded. Then draft a $25 choice card for each respondent email with the message 'Thanks for your feedback — this one's on us.' Show me the list before sending."
Incentivize participation before the survey closes
"Create a Giftronaut campaign called 'Survey Incentive' — $20 choice card, sender name 'Team Giftronaut', subject 'A thank-you in advance', message 'Complete our 5-minute survey and we'll send you a gift on us.' Then pull the contact list from my [Survey Name] survey so I can match it to Giftronaut recipients."
Follow up on NPS results
"Pull responses from my [NPS Survey] and identify everyone who gave a score of 9 or 10. Cross-check those emails against my Giftronaut recipient list. Draft a $50 Amazon gift card for each match with the message 'Your feedback means a lot to us.' Show me the list before I send."
Thank employees after an engagement survey
"Get the list of employees who responded to the Q2 Engagement Survey in SurveyMonkey. Add any new ones to my Giftronaut recipients under a group called 'Q2 Engagement Respondents'. Then send a $30 choice card to the whole group with the message 'Thank you for sharing your thoughts — we hear you.'"
Tips
Start read-only on both sides. Before any sending workflow, pull lists and preview orders first. Ask Claude to show you what it plans to do before you confirm anything.
Match on email. Both SurveyMonkey respondents and Giftronaut recipients use email as the common identifier. Prompts that include "match by email" help Claude link the two lists accurately.
Work in batches if your list is large. For large response sets, preview a small subset first to verify the data before proceeding with the full send.
Use sandbox mode while building new workflows. Switch your Giftronaut app to sandbox until you are confident the workflow runs correctly end to end. No real gift cards will be sent in sandbox mode.
Be aware of response limits. SurveyMonkey Basic plan accounts are limited to viewing 25 responses through the connector. If your survey has more responses, you may need a higher SurveyMonkey plan to retrieve the full list.
FAQs
Does Claude automatically share data between SurveyMonkey and Giftronaut? Only when you ask it to. Each connection is separate. Claude can query both in a single conversation, but it will not cross-reference them unless your prompt asks it to.
What if a SurveyMonkey respondent is not in my Giftronaut recipient list? Ask Claude to create the missing recipients first: "Add any respondents not already in Giftronaut as new recipients, then send the gift card."
Can I use this with sandbox mode? Yes. Giftronaut's sandbox environment lets you test sending workflows without sending real gift cards. Note that SurveyMonkey data is always live — survey responses are real regardless of which Giftronaut environment you use.
Can I edit a live survey through this workflow? No. The SurveyMonkey connector does not support editing surveys that are currently collecting responses. Use the SurveyMonkey interface directly to make changes to active surveys.
Does this work with AI clients other than Claude? No. The SurveyMonkey connector is only available in Claude. If you need a similar workflow with a different AI client, consider the Qualtrics MCP integration instead.
Where can I see activity from both tools? Giftronaut MCP activity is logged in your Giftronaut request log dashboard. SurveyMonkey connector activity can be monitored from your SurveyMonkey account.
