Connect your Qualtrics survey platform and Giftronaut account in a single AI conversation. With both MCPs active, you can pull survey data and send gift cards without switching tools or exporting spreadsheets.
What this combination does
Qualtrics MCP gives your AI assistant access to your survey responses, contacts, and XM Directory. Giftronaut MCP gives it access to your gift card catalog, recipients, and orders. Together, they let you close the loop between survey activity and rewards — in plain language, without manual exports or list matching.
Common workflows include:
- Sending gift cards to everyone who completes a survey
- Rewarding NPS promoters or top-scoring respondents
- Incentivizing survey participation before the survey closes
- Following up after employee engagement surveys with a thank-you gift
Before you start
You need both MCPs connected and confirmed before using them together.
For Giftronaut MCP:
- A Giftronaut developer account
- At least one active app (sandbox or production)
- Giftronaut MCP connected to your AI client — see the Giftronaut MCP setup article
For Qualtrics MCP:
- A Qualtrics account with API access enabled
- API credentials from Account Settings → Qualtrics IDs
- Your Qualtrics MCP server URL — see Forming the MCP URL in your Qualtrics API documentation
Complete each setup independently before continuing. Both connections must be working on their own before combining them.
Setting up both MCPs in the same client
Connecting Qualtrics MCP
- In Qualtrics, go to Account Settings → Qualtrics IDs.
- Copy your API token and note your data center ID (for example,
fra1oriad1). - Form your Qualtrics MCP server URL using the Forming the MCP URL guide on api.qualtrics.com.
- Add the Qualtrics MCP server to your AI client with that URL.
- When prompted, provide your API token as the
X-API-TOKENheader. - Confirm the connection with a read-only prompt: "List my Qualtrics surveys."
Confirming Giftronaut MCP
If Giftronaut MCP is already connected, confirm it is still working before proceeding:
- "Check my Giftronaut balance."
- "List my most recent gift card orders."
Once both respond correctly, you are ready to run combined workflows.
What you can do
Reward survey completers
After a survey closes, pull a list of respondents who finished and send them a gift card through Giftronaut.
"Pull the list of contacts who completed my [Survey Name] survey. Then draft a $25 choice card for each of them with the message 'Thanks for your feedback — this one's on us.' Show me a summary before sending."
Incentivize participation before the survey closes
Send a gift card to contacts as a thank-you in advance, tied to a survey invitation.
"Create a Giftronaut campaign called 'Survey Incentive' — $20 choice card, sender name 'Team Giftronaut', subject 'A thank-you in advance', message 'Complete our 5-minute survey and we'll send you a gift on us.' Then show me the mailing list from my [Survey Name] distribution so I can match it to Giftronaut recipients."
Follow up after NPS results
"From my [NPS Survey] in Qualtrics, find all respondents who scored 9 or 10. Cross-check those emails against my Giftronaut recipient list. Draft a $50 Amazon gift card for each match with the message 'Your feedback means a lot to us.' Show me the list before I send."
Thank employees after an engagement survey
"Get the list of employees who responded to the Q2 Engagement Survey. Add any new ones to my Giftronaut recipients under a group called 'Q2 Engagement Respondents'. Then send a $30 choice card to the whole group with the message 'Thank you for sharing your thoughts — we hear you.'"
Tips
Start read-only on both sides. Before any sending workflow, pull lists and preview orders first. Ask the assistant to show you what it plans to do before you confirm anything.
Match on email. Both Qualtrics contacts and Giftronaut recipients use email as the common identifier. Prompts that include "match by email" or "find recipients with matching emails" help the assistant link the two lists accurately.
Work in batches if your list is large. For lists over a few hundred contacts, preview a small subset first to verify the data before proceeding with the full send.
Use sandbox mode while building new workflows. Switch your Giftronaut app to sandbox until you are confident the workflow runs correctly end to end. No real gift cards will be sent in sandbox mode.
FAQs
Does the AI assistant automatically share data between the two MCPs?
Only when you ask it to. Each MCP is a separate connection. The assistant can query both in a single conversation, but it will not cross-reference them unless your prompt asks it to.
What if a Qualtrics contact is not in my Giftronaut recipient list?
Ask the assistant to create the missing recipients first: "Add any contacts not already in Giftronaut as new recipients, then send the gift card."
Can I use this with sandbox mode?
Yes. Giftronaut's sandbox environment lets you test sending workflows without sending real gift cards. Note that Qualtrics MCP operates against your live Qualtrics account — survey data is always real regardless of which Giftronaut environment you use.
What Qualtrics data can the assistant access?
Qualtrics MCP exposes all JSON-based Qualtrics APIs, including survey responses, contact lists, XM Directory, distributions, and response exports. See your Qualtrics API documentation for the full list.
Where can I see activity from both tools?
Giftronaut MCP activity is logged in your Giftronaut request log dashboard. Qualtrics API activity appears in your Qualtrics API Usage Reports.
