Giftronaut MCP lets you use AI tools like Claude, OpenCode, and Cursor to work with Giftronaut in plain language. You can ask your assistant to check balances, look up orders, manage recipients, and prepare gift-card workflows without switching between tools.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to outside tools. Think of it like giving your AI assistant a direct line to Giftronaut — once connected, you can type things like “Draft a $50 Amazon gift card for Will in Sales,” and your assistant can prepare the details for your review.
Before you start
Before connecting Giftronaut MCP, make sure you have:
- A Giftronaut developer account - Sign up with your current Giftronaut account credentials.
- Permission to connect third-party or AI tools for your organization
- An MCP-compatible AI client
- At least one active app created in your developer portal.
When you connect for the first time, a browser window will open asking you to sign in to your Giftronaut account. If your account has more than one set of API credentials, you’ll be asked to pick which one to use. No API keys or tokens need to be copied — the sign-in flow handles everything automatically.
What you can do with Giftronaut MCP
Once Giftronaut MCP is connected, your AI assistant can help with common gifting tasks such as:
- Checking your available Giftronaut balance
- Looking up recent orders and delivery status
- Searching the gift card catalog
- Creating or finding recipients
- Reviewing recipient groups, campaigns, and email templates
- Preparing gift-card orders for your review
Tip: Start with read-only prompts first, such as checking a balance or listing recent orders. This helps you confirm the connection before asking the assistant to create or send anything.
