Giftronaut gift cards are country-specific, so recipients in Mexico need cards issued for Mexico. The same holds everywhere else in the region.
This article covers what is available across North and South America, what each recipient actually sees, and what happens in countries with no local catalog.

How much of the Americas does Giftronaut cover?
North America is the second deepest region in the catalog, and South America is smaller but covered. By region, Giftronaut offers 1,544 products across Europe, 1,191 across Asia, 1,073 across North America, 370 across Oceania, 289 across South America, and 174 across Africa, as of publication.
Within North America the United States carries by far the most. As of publication, the United States has the largest catalog on Giftronaut, with 795 products, followed by Australia (303), India (258), France (255), and the United Arab Emirates (219).
What does a recipient in the United States see?
A recipient in the United States sees gift cards issued for the United States and denominated in USD, alongside global options such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
What does a recipient in Canada see?
A recipient in Canada is shown Giftronaut products issued for Canada and priced in CAD, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
For the current Canadian brand list, see Gift card options in Canada. If your team spans the border, Gift Cards That Work in Both Canada and the US covers that case directly.
What does a recipient in Brazil see?
Giftronaut offers a variety of gift cards across South America, with recipients in Brazil able to receive rewards in BRL or USD.
A recipient in Brazil is shown Giftronaut products issued for Brazil and priced in BRL, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
| Recipient location | Local catalog currency | Global option also shown |
|---|---|---|
| United States | USD | Global Visa Reward Card |
| Canada | CAD | Global Visa Reward Card |
| Brazil | BRL | Global Visa Reward Card |
What if a country has no local gift card?
The recipient still gets rewarded, just not with a local brand.
When a recipient's country has no local gift card on Giftronaut, the sender can still reward them with a multi-country product such as the Global Visa Reward Card USD, which can be used in 225 countries.
South America’s catalog is smaller than North America’s, so this comes up more often there. You do not need to identify those countries in advance.
Do recipients across the Americas pick the same brands?
No, and the difference is sharper than most programs expect. Gift card preferences don’t translate neatly across countries. The top five brands in Spain, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Australia, and Mexico have no single brand in common across all five markets.
How concentrated those choices are also varies. Recipient preferences are far more concentrated in some countries than others: Spain’s top brand captures 78.1% of selections, while Brazil’s top brand accounts for just 11.4%.
In practice that means a single brand chosen centrally will land well in some Americas markets and poorly in others, which is the argument for letting recipients choose.
How do I send to a mixed team across the region?
Three decisions cover it:
- Decide whether the program requires one specific brand. If it does, you are sending branded cards and you will need a separate selection for each country.
- If it does not, send a Choice Card. Each recipient lands in their own local catalog without you sorting the list by country first.
- Check the countries you expect to appear. Some require enablement before branded cards show at checkout, so request any that are missing rather than assuming they are unsupported.
For sending beyond the Americas, see E-Gift Cards for International Recipients: No-Fee, Worldwide Options.

International gift cards for contractors in Latin America
Local catalogs exist in parts of the region and global prepaid covers the rest. A Giftronaut recipient in a country with no locally issued gift card has no local brand to choose from and receives a Visa or Mastercard style reward instead, such as the Global Visa Reward Card or the Swype Global Virtual Mastercard.
Where can I send gift cards in multiple currencies for a global team?
In a single Giftronaut order. A Giftronaut sender can send a Choice Card directly in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, DKK, AUD, or AED, and the recipient can still convert it to a different currency at redemption.
Which countries are usually not supported for international gift cards?
On Giftronaut the exclusions are sanctions-based. Giftronaut reaches 225 countries, while 12 countries are blocked outright under US sanctions: Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.
