Giftronaut sends gift cards to recipients in both the UK and US, in local currency. Europe is the deepest part of the catalog, and most European recipients see brands from their own country when they redeem. This article covers what is available, which currency your recipient receives, and what happens in countries without a local catalog.

What can I send to recipients in Europe?
Giftronaut offers a variety of gift cards in Europe, where a recipient in the United Kingdom, France, or Spain can be rewarded in their local currency or in USD.
Europe is the region where Giftronaut has the most locally issued gift cards, with 1,544 products across 31 countries that have their own catalog, as of publication.
| Region | Products in the catalog |
|---|---|
| Europe | 1,544 |
| Asia | 1,191 |
| North America | 1,073 |
| Oceania | 370 |
| South America | 289 |
| Africa | 174 |
If you are sending across several European markets in one order, you do not need to pick a catalog per country. Each recipient is shown the right one when they redeem.
Which European countries have their own catalog?
Giftronaut publishes a dedicated gift card options article for 11 countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Spain, Sweden, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
Six of those are in Europe. Open the guide for the country you are sending to for the brands available there.

The other 25 European countries with a local catalog do not have a dedicated guide yet. They still work the same way at redemption.
What currency will my recipient receive?
Each European country has its own catalog, priced in that country’s currency.
A recipient in the United Kingdom is shown Giftronaut products issued for the United Kingdom and priced in GBP, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
A recipient in France is shown Giftronaut products issued for France and priced in EUR, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card. A recipient in Spain is shown Giftronaut products issued for Spain and priced in EUR, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
Giftronaut supports 51 currencies across its catalog, and 19 countries carry listings in more than one currency, as of publication.
Can a UK gift card be used elsewhere in Europe?
No. Giftronaut gift cards are country-specific and cannot be redeemed in another country, even when the same brand is available there. Brands such as Amazon, Uber, PlayStation, Airbnb, and Apple have separate country-specific products. For example, an Amazon.co.uk gift card cannot be redeemed on Amazon.com in the United States.
The same applies within Europe. A card issued for France will not work in Germany, even for a brand that trades in both. If you are unsure where a recipient is, send a Choice Card and let them pick at redemption.
What if a European country has no local catalog?
Not every country Giftronaut reaches has a locally issued gift card, and a recipient in one of those countries can be rewarded with a global product instead: the Global Visa Reward Card, which can be used in 225 countries, or the Swype Global Virtual Mastercard, which can be used in 202.
Nothing changes on your side. You place the same order, and the recipient sees the global option instead of a local brand list.
Are there European countries Giftronaut cannot send to?
Giftronaut blocks access from 12 countries covered by US sanctions: Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.
None of them is in Europe, so there is no European country you are blocked from sending to.

Frequently asked questions
Can I send a gift card to someone in the UK from a US company?
Yes. A recipient in the United Kingdom is shown Giftronaut products issued for the United Kingdom and priced in GBP, alongside global products such as the Global Visa Reward Card.
Can I send a gift card to an employee in Germany or the Netherlands?
Yes to both. Germany has a dedicated country guide and the Netherlands does not, but a guide is not the same as a catalog. Europe is the region where Giftronaut has the most locally issued gift cards, with 1,544 products across 31 countries that have their own catalog, as of publication.
Can a US company fund in USD but send gift cards in euros?
Yes. A Giftronaut sender can send a Choice Card directly in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, DKK, AUD, or AED, and the recipient can still convert it to a different currency at redemption.
Do gift card catalogs differ from country to country?
Each product in the Giftronaut catalog is issued for a specific country and currency. If the same brand is available in multiple countries, each country-specific version appears as a separate product.
Which European countries have the fewest options?
Ukraine and Malta each have a single locally issued product in the Giftronaut catalog, and the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Kuwait, and Guatemala each have two, and in all of them except Ukraine a recipient can also be rewarded with the Global Visa Reward Card.
Can European recipients see the reward in their own language?
Yes. Giftronaut senders can have a recipient's reward email translated into any of 15 languages including Japanese, Vietnamese, Sinhala, and Malay. A recipient without an assigned language can still change the display language from a dropdown on the redemption page.
